10‘000 Memorabilien mit US-Präsident John F. Kennedy Der ermordete US-Präsident John F. Kennedy fasziniert noch heute wie kaum ein anderer Politiker. Gegen 10‘000 Erinnerungsstücke lassen den Mythos seiner Familie neu aufleben. Das Auktionshaus Rapp wurde mit der Versteigerung dieser einzigartigen Sammlung betraut. 1960 kam es in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika zum hauchdünnen Wahlsieg John F. Kennedys – es war das knappste Ergebnis einer US-Präsidentschaftswahl des 20. Jahrhunderts. Das faszinierte den Einlieferer der Sammlung schon damals: Mit zwölf Jahren begann er Unterschriften von John F. Kennedy zu sammeln und gratulierte ihm mit einem Brief zu seiner Wahl. Nicht schlecht staunte er, als Jacqueline Kennedy sich persönlich dafür bedankte. Einige Zeit später kamen Kennedy-Bücher hinzu – über 200 sind Teil der Sammlung Doch die Bücher sind nur ein kleiner Teil der umfassenden Sammlung. Sie lässt die Herzen vieler Kennedy-Fans und historisch Interessierter höher schlagen. Sie kann sogar helfen, möglicherweise bislang unbekannte Facetten der Kennedy-Saga aufzuarbeiten. Die einzigartige Sammlung enthält fast 1800 Briefe, gegen 800 Fotos, über 3000 Briefmarken, 300 Zeitschriften, weit über 300 Ansichtskarten, 180 Videos und Filme, einige Geschirr-Erinnerungsstücke, über 200 Münzen sowie Poster, Gästelisten und viele andere Dokumenten. Allein über die Ermordung Kennedys am 22. November 1963 gibt es 42 Memorabilien. Von zwei sogenannten Klischees, also Vorstufen von gedruckten, offiziellen Fotos des Präsidialamts gibt es von einem nur noch deren zwei – das eine davon liegt in der John F. Kennedy Library, das andere ist Teil dieser Kennedy-Sammlung. Mit dem einen Klischee von John F. Kennedy wurden alle Fotos gemacht und der Presse zugestellt. Das andere Foto-Klischee der Sammlung zeigt Kennedys Frau Jacqueline. Hinter der Sammlung verbergen sich einerseits historische Einblicke in den Polit-Alltag, anderseits in das schillernde und zeitweilen skandalträchtige Leben der Kennedy-Familie. So enthält sie unter anderem eine persönliche Widmung von Filmstar Marylin Monroe oder den Einblick in das staatliche Protokoll des Besuchs des Schahs von Persien im Jahr 1962. Die Sammlung enthält viele einmalige Stücke. Man spürt sofort, dass der Sammler viel Wert auf eine schöne Präsentation legte. Alle Sammelstücke sind in zwei Ordnern fein säuberlich dokumentiert. Approximately 10,000 pieces of memorabilia breathe new life into the myth surrounding his family. The auction house Rapp has been entrusted with the auction of this unique collection. In 1960, John F. Kennedy won a narrowly contested presidential election in the United States—one of the closest results of a U.S. presidential election in the 20th century. The consignor of the collection was fascinated by this event even then: at the age of twelve, he began collecting autographs from John F. Kennedy and congratulated him with a letter upon his election. He was astounded when Jacqueline Kennedy personally thanked him for his kind gesture. Some time later, Kennedy-related books were added—over 200 are part of the collection. However, the books represent only a small fraction of the extensive collection. It makes the hearts of many Kennedy fans and history enthusiasts race. It may even assist in uncovering previously unknown facets of the Kennedy saga. The unique collection contains nearly 1,800 letters, around 800 photographs, over 3,000 stamps, 300 magazines, well over 300 postcards, 180 videos and films, some commemorative dinnerware, more than 200 coins, as well as posters, guest lists, and many other documents. There are 42 items solely related to Kennedy's assassination on November 22, 1963. Among the collection is a rare instance of two so-called "negatives," which are early versions of printed official photographs from the presidential office. Only two remain of one kind—one is located in the John F. Kennedy Library, while the other is part of this Kennedy collection. All photos delivered to the press were produced from one of these negatives. The other photo negative in the collection features Kennedy's wife, Jacqueline. The collection offers historical insights into the daily political life of the time as well as glimpses into the glamorous and sometimes scandalous life of the Kennedy family. It includes, among other items, a personal inscription from movie star Marilyn Monroe and an insight into the official protocol for the visit of the Shah of Persia in 1962. The collection features many one-of-a-kind items, reflecting the collector's commitment to beautiful presentation. Each piece is meticulously documented in two binders.
